So which WordPress theme is best for blogging?

Every blogger inevitably faces this question sooner or later. There are so many different options out there, it can be hard to know which one to choose! I’ve tried many different WordPress themes myself, so here are my thoughts on the most popular choices:

DropFunnels: My personal favourite (and what I use), DropFunnels is a great theme for bloggers who want to have complete control over the design of their site.

With DropFunnels, you can easily create custom landing pages, opt-in forms, and sales pages without having to write any code. And if you ever need help, the support team will bend over backwards to respond!

Divi Theme: Another popular option, Divi is a great choice for bloggers who want a lot of flexibility in terms of design.

With Divi, you can create custom layouts for your posts and pages, and there are tons of different plugins and add-ons that you can use to extend its functionality.

One downside of Divi is that it can be a bit overwhelming for beginners, but there are plenty of online resources to help you get started.

Let's dive deeper so we can help you can find which WordPress theme is best for blogging!

But firstly though, let's cover some basics...

What is a WordPress theme and how does it work?

A WordPress theme is a collection of files that work together to show a website or blog. The look and feel of the site (and the way content is shown) can be changed with a theme. Most WordPress themes are written in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

But honestly - you don't need to be too concerned about all the behind-the-scenes "techie" stuff!

The main thing to know is that you can use either WordPress.org or WordPress.com. Do your diligent research on both but I always suggest using WordPress.org.

Once you have chosen and installed a WordPress theme on your site, you can begin customising it to match your brand or personal preferences.

WordPress themes usually include several different options for customisation, including colours, fonts, layouts, and other design elements.

Many themes also come with additional features such as social media integration, e-commerce support, and more.

I guess what we're saying here is not to expect to master WordPress in a short afternoon but that you have an abundance of creative freedom when using it! 🙂

How to choose the best WordPress theme for your blog

When it comes to picking the perfect WordPress theme for your blog, there are a few factors to consider. The first is what kind of style you want for your site. Are you looking for a clean, minimalistic design, or something more flashy and attention-grabbing?

The second is what features you need. Does your blog require e-commerce support, or social media integration?

Lastly, you'll want to make sure the WordPress theme you choose is compatible with the plugins you're using.

There are literally thousands of WordPress themes to choose from, so finding the perfect one for your blog can seem daunting.

To help narrow down your options, we've compiled what we think are the two best WordPress themes for blogging. (We mention three other WordPress themes a bit further down this page too).

We summarised these two themes at the start of the post but let's jump into them in a bit more depth.

The Genesis Pro WordPress theme also looks quite enticing!

Divi WordPress theme

As we touched on above the Divi theme is a popular option for bloggers because it is highly customisable and comes with a wide range of features.

One of the main benefits of using Divi is that it allows you to create custom layouts for your posts and pages. This means you can have full control over how your content is displayed, and you don't have to be a coding expert to do it.

The Divi theme also includes e-commerce support, social media integration, and a host of other features that can be useful for bloggers.

I prefer DropFunnels for blogging but having said that the Divi theme is definitely a head turner, especially if you are a visual person! It's really quite striking how beautiful the Divi theme is. And going by all the statistics it's hugely popular too.

DropFunnels theme

DropFunnels is another great option for bloggers who are looking for a highly customisable WordPress theme. (It's built on the WordPress structure).

Like Divi, DropFunnels allows you to create custom layouts for your posts and pages. It also includes e-commerce support, social media integration, and many other features.

One of the main benefits of using DropFunnels is that it is designed specifically for conversion optimisation. This means that it comes with a number of tools and features that can help you increase your conversion rate and grow your blog.

DropFunnels is more of a streamlined 'bird dog' rather than a 'show pony' like Divi... 🙂

What I mean is that you don't need to scamper around with any distractions (like sourcing the right plugins, endless website updates, etc) as DropFunnels is an 'all-in-one' tool that comes with everything you need.

What I particularly like about DropFunnels is that I can focus completely on creating content (ie; blog posts!) that are optimised for the search engines without any of the nightmarish tech stuff getting in my way!

The WordPress based free Astra theme is another option.

But which WordPress theme is best for blogging between DropFunnels and Divi?

Both are good blogging tools! I use DropFunnels for this blog as it's lean and mean and perfect for my needs. However you might also want to boogie down with Divi too if that's your thing!

The benefits of using a WordPress theme for blogging

Like we've harped on about, when it comes to choosing a platform for your blog, WordPress is hard to beat. Not only is it free and easy to use, but there are also tons of great WordPress themes available that can help you create a professional-looking site in no time.

One of the best things about using a WordPress theme for your blog is that you can easily change the look of your site without having to do any coding.

There are thousands of different themes available, so you can always find one that suits your style. And if you ever get bored of a particular theme, switching to another one is as easy as a few clicks.

Another great advantage of WordPress is that it’s very search engine friendly. This means that your blog is more likely to show up in Google searches, which can help you attract more readers.

Finally, WordPress themes are typically very responsive, which means they’ll look great on any device, whether it’s a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. This is important since more and more people are using their mobile devices to access the internet.

While there are other platforms out there that you can use for your blog, such as Shopify or Squarespace, WordPress is still the best option for most people.

So if you’re looking for a theme that will help you create a professional-looking site that’s easy to use and search engine friendly, WordPress is the way to go.

And if you've got blogging on your mind then take a sneak peek at DropFunnels first, before you duke it out with Divi!

Now for those top five WordPress themes we mentioned...

You can get into blogging no matter where you are in the world!

So which WordPress theme is best for blogging?

After all that, the bottom line is that when it comes to choosing a WordPress theme for your blog, there's no one-size-fits all solution! 🙂

Depending on what you're going for and the type of content you want to post, different themes will be better suited than others.

For example, if you need a robust blogging platform that offers lots of customisation options (and is a real eye candy!) so you can create any type of blog you want, then Divi by Elegant Themes is a great option.

However, if you're looking for something more simple and straightforward (without the tech befuddlement) that will still allow you to write great content and connect with your audience, then DropFunnels would be a better choice.

Or if you want to save on your cold hard cash then you could always warm-up with the free Astra theme and throw in a minimal hosting fee at the same time.

Ultimately, the answer to 'which WordPress theme is best for blogging' is the one that best suits your needs and preferences. So take some time to browse through the various options and see which one you like the best.
